“And lavender, whose spikes of azure bloom
shall be, ere-while, in arid bundles bound
to lurk admist the labours of her loom,
and crown her kerchiefs witl mickle rare perfume.”

One of the most frequent questions I get as an aromatherapist is, “Which essential oils(s) work best for the relief of stress? Continued stress can cause dis-ease, and simply inhaling essential oils can stop that runaway train.

Lavender is perhaps the best known essential oil.  It is known as the angel of healing and purification. It is restorative to the nerves, induces rest, relaxes muscle tension and is great for sleep. Lavender balances mood swings, gives peace of mind. It can be used directly on the skin without dilution, and is safe for use with children (not babies or pregnant women!). Whenever possible, purchase therapeutic grade, organic essential oil.

Lavender is one of the most reasonably priced and effective oils.

Put a few drops in the palm of your hands and rub them together…then bring them together around your nose and inhale deeply a few times..AH….You can also use a diffuser to disperse the scent into your bedroom..or any room!

A simple blend: Combine lavender with rose and marjoram essential oils for a calming blend. 5 drops lavender, 2 drops rose or clary sage and 2 drops marjoram in a tablespoon of carrier oil (jojoba, is a good choice)combine in an amber or cobalt colored bottle. A few drops will work wonders! Rub into the soles of your feet, put on a pair of socks and relax!
